Climate Change Blue Note

London, England.

We heard today that climate change is “hyped up” according to a majority of people interviewed by MORI. They are much more concerned about dog mess and the state of the roads and refuse collection than about making changes to lifestyle. Some even think that climate change is an over-rated concept.

There is a real risk that the general public will become deeply complacent about the changes that are happening to our planet and it is going to be an uphill battle to keep the issue open, alive and truthfully argued. Lets face it, the Greenland ice cap is melting far faster than had been anticipated, Arctic sea ice is melting away even in winter and, in the Himalayas, an ice shrine that had been visited for thousands of years has simply disappeared; pilgrims to the site are devastated.

Drinking water in the Far East is soon to become more precious than gold.

Lets look forward to this Saturday’s concerts and sing, loudly, like 2 billion canaries.
